Student Response

Based on what I learned about I know that there are three different types of eaters.
Omnivores are plant and meat eaters.
Carnivores are only meat eaters.
Herbivores are only plant eaters.

Introduction

Standards Addressed:
(L.E. 1.1a) (L.E. 3.1a): Identify, in animals, the relationship between the physical structures and the functions of those structures
(RI. 1.6) : Distinguish between information provided by pictures or other illustrations and information provided by the words in a text.

Think about the food chain. We learned that a food chain is a cycle that goes around and around. We learned the sun is the main source of energy for the food chain. All living things need energy in order to live and they get this energy from the food they eat.
Food Chain Review

We also learned that animals get their energy by eating plants or other animals.
  • We know that elephants, cows, and horses are examples of herbivores

  • And monkeys, bears, and raccoons are omnivores

Please tell me what the following terms mean:
Carnivore
Herbivore
Omnivore
